Product Overview

Our two-component liquid silicone rubber is an addition-cure (platinum-catalyzed) RTV-2 elastomer specifically formulated for electronic potting, encapsulation, and sealing applications. This material is designed to protect sensitive electronic components from moisture, dust, vibration, chemicals, and thermal shock while providing excellent electrical insulation and heat dissipation.

Silicone potting compounds are the preferred choice for high-temperature and outdoor applications due to their superior thermal stability and weather resistance. Whether your customers are potting PCB assemblies, power modules, LED drivers, sensors, transformers, or automotive electronics, our LSR delivers the performance and reliability required for demanding environments.

• UL94 V-0 Flame Retardant: Meets UL94 V-0 flame rating, enabling rapid self-extinguishing in open flame conditions. Certified to the highest safety standards for electronic device protection. The flame-retardant level of addition-cure silicone can reach UL94 V-0, fully complying with EU RoHS directive requirements.

• Excellent Thermal Conductivity: Formulated with thermally conductive fillers (≥0.6-0.8 W/m·K) to efficiently dissipate heat generated by electronic components, preventing overheating and extending product lifespan.

• High Electrical Insulation: dielectric strength ≥20-25 kV/mm, providing superior protection against current leakage and short circuits.

• Low Viscosity & Self-Leveling: Mixed viscosity as low as 2,500-6,000 cps ensures excellent flowability, allowing the compound to penetrate intricate spaces between components and self-level for bubble-free encapsulation.

• Wide Operating Temperature Range: Stable performance from -55°C to +200°C, maintaining flexibility and electrical properties under extreme thermal conditions.

• Addition Cure (Platinum Catalyzed): Two-component 1:1 or 10:1 mix ratio system. No byproduct release during curing, ultra-low shrinkage (≤0.1%), and no cure inhibition issues. Can be cured at room temperature or be heat-accelerated for faster production cycles.

• Excellent Substrate Adhesion: Primerless adhesion to many substrates, including PC, ABS, PVC, metals, glass, and ceramics. Compatible with common electronic component materials.

• Waterproof & Moisture Resistant: Achieves IPX6-IPX8 waterproof ratings, providing robust protection for outdoor electronics, charging stations, and industrial controllers.

• Low Shrinkage & Low Stress: Ultra-low linear shrinkage (≤0.1%) ensures dimensional stability during cure, minimizing stress on sensitive electronic components.

• Flexible Cured Properties: Cured elastomer remains flexible (Shore A 20-60 adjustable), absorbing vibration and mechanical shock while protecting components from physical damage.

• Environmentally Compliant: 100% solids, solvent-free, VOC-free, and odorless. RoHS, REACH compliant. Non-corrosive to common electronic substrates.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Reproduction of Vertical Surfaces
If a skin mold is required of a vertical object or surface and cannot be made by normal pouring techniques, the catalyzed mixture can be made non flowable by the addition of thixotropic agent.

1. Prepare the original as described earlier.
2. Brush the original with a thin layer of catalyzed mixture. Repeat the operation when the first layer has started to cure, to achieve a coating thickness of >2mm. Leave to cure at
room temperature until the material is tacky.
3. Prepare a new catalyzed mixture of silicone and add 1% by weight of thixotropic additive and mix thoroughly until a paste consistency is reached. De-airing of the mixture is not
required.
4. Using a spatula, cover the coated original with the thixotropic coating until all undercuts are filled; leave to cure for 24 hours at room temperature.
5. Construct a support mold using polyester resin or plaster and allow to set in contact with the silicone coating. Carefully remove the support mold. Peel the rubber off the original
and place in the support mold.

 

Use at High Temperatures
Some molds produced from condensation cure silicone rubbers can degrade when exposed to temperatures above 150°C (302°F) over a period of time or when totally confined in
storage at high ambient temperatures. This can result in softening and loss of elastic properties.
Resistance to Casting Materials
The chemical resistance of fully cured silicone rubber is excellent, and similar to all condensation cure silicone elastomers. It should be noted however that ultimately, resins and
other aggressive casting materials will attack silicone molds, changing physical properties, surface release and possibly mold dimensions. Molds should be checked periodically during
long production runs.
